TRACE: UNDEFINED - Long Distance Drawing
3rd of April - 25th of May 2024
Maison de l'Architecture, Amiens - France
In partnership with the Maison de l’Architecture and the ÉSAD Amiens .
The line presents Trace: undefined, an exhibition on the theme of the trace, the digital tool and creative code.
The exhibition presents the individual work of the five artists of the collective ; a work from the collection of the FRAC Picardie and the Long Distance Drawing project.
Long Distance Drawing is a collective project around drawing at a distance, using the plotter to execute the work. Long Distance Drawing invites artists from all over the world to exhibit together by going beyond the boundaries between the Internet, the tangible and drawing. The drawings are thought and made from programming language then saved in a digital format. By this process, the artist designs his work, then it is drawn with a pencil on a sheet located several kilometers away, without distance limit.

EXPLORING GRIEF AND LOSS THROUGH ART
group exhibition at the Willesden Gallery
17th of January - 23rd of February 2024
Opening event_ Wednesday 24th of January 6-8.30pm
Willesden Gallery is proud to present Exploring grief and loss through art, a group exhibition featuring London based artists, that explores artists’ experience of loss and grief in contemporary art practice.
The exhibition seeks to foster a dialogue surrounding grief, loss, and bereavement, while delving into the dynamic ways contemporary artists respond to these emotions through their art. It seeks to challenge perceptions, evoke emotions, and foster an environment of understanding and support for those who have experienced loss.
Bringing together 41 artists, selected over an open call with more than hundred submissions received, the exhibition showcases a range of work including paintings, sculpture installation, video, and photography – exploring the art of healing through creative expression.
FRAGMENTS_solo exhibition at the Print House Gallery
Fragments is a solo exhibition of Virag Pazmany's collection of original artworks and limited edition prints. Some of the prints are made by her pen plotter, whereas others are limited edition digital prints. The works could be categorised as both generative art and glitch art.
Virag's plot prints have multiple layers. She uses coding software to generate patterns and an AxiDraw writing and drawing machine to translate them into physical artworks.
Every plot print contains a little unevenness, providing a dynamic contrast to the strict overarching geometrical aesthetic.
In addition to the plot prints, Virag also creates digital artworks, such as her 'Broken Lines' series; a collection of deconstructed images. These artworks are intended to represent both nature and sensuality, and the destruction gives another layer to the overall aesthetic. The source images are from ink and chemical reaction videos, whereas the textures are an abstract mixture of organic and digital. The techniques used are a fusion of coding, digital editing and AI softwares.
Virag is ultimately driven to create these artworks by her yearning desire to explore the boundaries of machine-made drawings and eternal rules of geometry. Subsequently, her current production process could arguably be viewed as a human-machine collaboration.
